Seminar on “Leadership vs management in IT-industries and Agile”, organized by Department of CSE, Uttara University
Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Uttara University has organized a daylong seminar titled “Leadership vs Management in IT-industries and Agile” on Thursday 02 November-2017 started at 10.30 AM at IQAC Seminar Hall, Uttara University.
The keynote speaker of the seminar was Mr. Mohammad Khaleed Latif, Computer Engineer & Head, Software Asset Management department, Telia AB Company, Stockholm, Sweden.
The resource person was Mr. Md. Rasel Rana, CSM & Senior Software Engineer, Fortuna Group & LightCastle Partners. Md. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, Chairman, Department of CSE, Uttara University Chaired the program. He welcomed all the guests and participants to the seminar at the beginning of the program. Professor Dr. Kazi Khairul Islam, Dean, School of Science & Engineering, Uttara University has given his valuable speech and mentioned about the fact that the technology is growing fast, so that every leaders in IT industry should be prepared to adapt with current flow of technology to digitize the world.
Keynote speaker Mr. Mohammad Khaled Latif conducted the first session and presentation was taken place about the issues of Leadership,management especially in the present IT-industries in first world and third world. He has shared his 25 years of practical experience and knowledge that he achieved in Europe with the percipients of the seminar. He has given his own thoughtsandexpressed the role of a Team Leader in IT industries and said that the best leaders aren't necessarily great managers and great managers aren't always the best leaders. A company needs both types of personalities to be competitive. Here's a look at the separate skills and traits associated with each, so you can be the best leader and/or manager for your IT team.
The resource person Md. Rasel Rana conducted the second session on “Agile Developments” to clarify how an IT industry should be maintained in an organized way to maximize the outcomes using Agile Methodology.Among others, Professor Md. Shahnewaz Khan and Dr. Md. Mijanur Rahman have given their valuable speech to motivate the all participants to grow and up-date with new technology. All the departmental faculty members, staffs and number of students were present in the occasion.
Program-Chair Mr. Md. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury has given an overall observation before
concluding the seminar.
