The Faculty and HR Office at Uttara University is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic environment for faculty and staff. Key Functions

The Faculty and HR Office performs essential functions to support both academic and administrative success.

Human Resources Management

1. Overall HR: Comprehensive management of all HR and administrative tasks, including recruitment, talent acquisition, employee services, and payroll processing.

2. Talent Acquisition: Manages manpower planning, job analysis, recruitment, induction, orientation, and placement. Organizes job fairs, communicates with universities for internships, and processes recruitment-related payments.

3. HR Services-1: Includes policy management, performance management systems (PMS), career planning, bonuses, rewards, promotions, and allowances.

4. HR Services-2: Covers organizational charts, manpower mapping, discipline, grievances, conflict management, counselling, wellness programs, HRIS, and report generation.

5. Payroll Management: Ensures timely payroll preparation, salary benchmarking, bank activities, HRIS financial integration, and the generation of pay slips and payroll reports.

6. Training & Development: Conducts training needs analysis, develops training and development (T&D) plans, manages budgets, coordinates execution, and monitors feedback to enhance professional growth.

7. Event Management: Coordinates corporate events, celebrations, exhibitions, picnics, contract signings, relief distributions, and tours/events for top management.

8. HR & Admin Audit/Compliance: Ensures adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and ISO certifications while performing audit responsibilities.

9. People Culture: Promotes core values, drives HR as a business partner, ensures alignment between HR and business strategies, and works closely with departments to enhance cooperation and coordination.

General Administrative Management

10. Transport Management: Handles vehicle registration, maintenance, movement control, driver management, fuel management, and vehicle procurement. Ensures transport policies are followed, including entitlements and adjustments.

11. Security & Traffic: Manages the security team, oversees crisis management, recruitment, site inspections, coordination with third parties, and liaison with civil administration and military authorities.

12. Facilities Management: Manages office opening/closing, front desk management, housekeeping, internal repairs, cafeteria services, procurement of office supplies, health protocols, and top management services.

13. Logistics & Protocol: Manages internal communication, visas, permits, travel arrangements, and foreign travel expenses for employees and experts.

Team Structure

The Faculty and HR Office is organized to ensure efficient operations and collaboration across various functions:

1. Director, Faculty & HR Office (DFHRO): Oversees all HR and administrative functions and leads the HR & Admin team.

2. HR Team:

  • Manager: Manages HR operations and policies.
  • Executives/Senior Executives: Handle specific HR tasks such as recruitment, payroll, and performance evaluations.

3. Admin Team:

  • Manager: Oversees facilities, transport, security, logistics, and protocol.
  • Executives: Manage day-to-day administrative functions, including facilities management, procurement, and support for events.
