Uttara University organized a Discussion program on 18 December 2017, Monday at Gramvatulia, Turag, Uttara, the permanent campus of the university. Freedom Fighter Mr. Nurul Alam, Senior Co-Chairman, Sector Commanders Forum graced the program as the Chief Guest. Professor Mumtaz Begum, Treasurer of Uttara University and Professor Dr. Ayesha Begum, Chairman, Department of Bangla, Uttara University were present as Special Guests of the program. Professor Taslima Begum, Chairperson, Department of Education Chaired the program. Ms. Dulali Rani Saha, Assistant professor, Department of Education, anchored the program. Dr. Noor Muhamad Mallik, Department of Bangla, Syed Shahid Ahmad, Chairman (Acting), Department of Islamic Studies, Mr. Jahangir Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Education, faculty members and students of different departments were also present in the program. All the guests and participants stand one minute in silence to show honor to martyred freedom fighters. Professor Ayesha Begum presented a welcome speech and discussed the story of the freedom fighters martyrdom. Mr. Nurul Alam discussed about the guerrilla movement and the spirit of the Liberation War, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Professor Taslima Begum emphasized on using the correct history of our independence. She also said our students should know the glorious history of the Liberation War, 1971 and this was the reason of this discussion program.
