ICT Seminar at Uttara City College

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Uttara University (UU) organized a seminar on the topic ‘ICT: Past, Present and Future’ jointly with Uttara City College at the premise of the college. In his keynote speech, Dr. A. H. M. Saifullah Sadi, Associate Professor from Dept. of CSE, UU, emphesized that in order to realize a digital Bangladesh, ICT should be utilized in all important sectors of Bangladesh, in particular, in Agriculture. Also he urged our young people to learn ICT with positive mind-set and use the skill for the welfare of the society. Another keynote speaker, Md. Amanat Ullah motivated the students to take ICT as their future career in order to face the future ICT challenges. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Md Mijanur Rahman, Chairman of the Dept. of CSE, UU, pointed out that in near future ICT will control all spheres of life and that time our today's young people, who are tomorrow's leaders, must take technical leadership role in ICT with entrepreneurship spirit. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Mamun Ar Rashid, the honorable principal of Uttara City College.

Dept. of CSE, Uttara University and Gazipur Mahanagar College jointly organized a seminar on ICT

A seminar was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Uttara University on the topic ‘ICT: Past, Present and Future’ jointly with Gazipur Mahanagar College at the premise of the college. Keynote speeches of the seminar were presented by Dr. A. H. M. Saifullah Sadi and Mr. Uttam Kumar Dey, both from the Dept. of CSE, Uttara University. In his keynote speech, Dr. Sadi highlighted on the application of ICT in almost every sector of industry, medical, business, education, government and day-to-day life. He emphasized on the requirement on our young people to learn ICT with positive mind-set and use the ICT skill for the welfare of the society. Mr. Uttam Kumar Dey highlighted on the smart systems that are being developed using Artificial Intelligence and pointed out that these systems are making many complex jobs much easier. Chief guest Prof. Dr. Md Mijanur Rahman, Chairman of the Dept. of CSE, UU, emphatically highlighted that after jute (the golden fiber of Bangladesh), manpower and garments industry, ICT is the latest means for us to enrich our foreign exchange through freelancing and outsourcing and therefore, the young students, who are our future leaders, must plan to gain ICT leadership skills and entrepreneurship spirit. Also, importance of ICT in health sector and biomedical applications was highlighted by Mr. Shisir Mia, a faculty member of the same department. The seminar was chaired by Professor Mostafizur Rahman Khan, the honorable principle of Gazipur Mahanagar College.

Awarding certificates to the outgoing student ambassadors

SoB, UU organized a program for awarding certificates to the outgoing student ambassadors on 16th January 2019 at 2:45pm at IQAC Seminar Hall. All student ambassadors, class representatives and faculty members were present at the program. Students’ contributions for the development of the School as well the University was acknowledged and appreciated. Moderators of Student Ambassadorship Program were thanked for arranging this program.

Sharing information about forthcoming career fair

Center for Career Development (CCD), School of Business, Uttara University organized a forum on 16 Jan 2019 for sharing information about forthcoming career fair with students and faculty members. It was informed that the career fair would be arranged centrally in the month of September 2019. The fair will be open to all interested students of Uttara University. Department of Business Administration will select and nurture the students of business program for the fair. Tentative selection and nurturing mechanisms were also explained.
