Summer 2025 Scholarship Policy

Scholarship policy Summer 2025 revised from Spring 2025, 13 March onwards

The following policy has been issued for Summer 2025 semester admission, effective from 13.03.2025 by revising the Spring 2025 scholarship policy.

1. Scholarship on Results:
  1. 1.1 Founder Scholarship: (Refer to Founder Scholarship policy on website) Students with a Double GPA 5.00 can be awarded scholarships as follows:
    1. a) Students with a GPA 5.00 in both SSC & HSC [with/without optional] will be awarded with 100% scholarship. Applicable for the students passing HSC within the last 3 years [HSC from 2022 onwards and SSC from 2020 onwards].
    2. b) If any student gets an 'A' grade in 2 subjects at O level and passes at A level will be awarded with 100% scholarship. Applicable for the students passing A level exam within the last 3 years [A level from 2017 onwards and O level from 2015 onwards].
    3. c) Total cost for Founder Scholarship is up to 1 (one) lac taka including all fees.*
  1. 1.2. Merit-Based Scholarship:
    1. a) Students who passed SSC in 2017 or earlier and HSC in 2019 or earlier will not receive any scholarship.
    2. b) Students with a GPA 5.00 in SSC and HSC will receive a flat 50% scholarship or maximum offer if exceed current offer. [HSC passing year 2020 & SSC passing year 2018].
    3. c) Students with a single GPA 5.00 either in SSC or HSC will receive a 25% Scholarship. [HSC passing year 2020 & SSC passing year 2018].

2. Students who have completed both O and A levels can get a 90% discount on admission fees.

3. All Hon's Program students will get an additional 30-35% flat scholarship (except LLB, Civil, Textile, EEE and Math) for Summer 2025.

  1. 3.1 Students in the Dept. of Civil, Textile, EEE and Math for the BSc Program will get a 55% scholarship, for Summer 2025.

4. Diploma Holders for all Regular programs will get merit-based scholarships that are clarified in clause no. 1.2.

  1. 4.1 All students in the Departments of Civil Engineering, EEE, CSE, and FDT evening programs will receive a fixed scholarship of 205,000 taka for Summer 2025, while Textile evening program students will receive a fixed scholarship of 195,000 taka.

5. All the students of Master's Programs of MSc in CSE, MSc in Math (1 year), MSc in Physics (1 year), MBA (for BBA Graduates), MA in Islamic Studies (1 year) will get a 35% scholarship, MSc in Math (2 years), MSc in Physics (2 years), MA in Islamic Studies (2 years) will get a 40% scholarship, MA in English (1 & 2 years), ELT (1 & 2 years), LLM (1 year) will get a 30% scholarship & LLM (2 years) will get a 45% scholarship.

  1. 5.1 All the students of Master's Programs of MBA Regular (2 years), Executive MBA (EMBA) will get a 50% scholarship, MBA in AMFM (1 year) will get a 60% scholarship, MBA in AMFM (2 years) will get a 55% scholarship, MA in Bengali (1 & 2 years) will get a 45% scholarship.

6. BPEd students will get a 45% and MPEd students will get a 50% scholarship.

7. In accordance with the directive of the Ministry of Education, Uttara University will offer a special scholarship in the year 2025 exclusively for the family members of the officially recognized martyrs and injured individuals of the student and mass uprising of July-August.*

8. Siblings & Spouses

  1. 8.1 If siblings or spouses are admitted together, they will receive an additional scholarship: 5% for Hons and Master's students, 2% for Diploma students
  2. 8.2 For students who are admitted later (after their sibling or spouse has already been admitted), the following additional scholarships will apply: 5% for Hons and Master's students, 2% for Diploma students

9. Alumni and Family: Eligible for a 5% scholarship.

10. Physically challenged, ethnic minority groups and students of third gender may be granted a special scholarship of a minimum 30% on a case-to-case basis subject to submission of appropriate documents.

11. A 5% additional scholarship will be awarded to female students. [Except BSc programs for Diploma holders and LLB program in addition to the current scholarship and result-based scholarship].

Note: Only one offer can be availed from 8 to 11

12. A maximum of 50% scholarship can be awarded to students seeking admission from sports and cultural fields subject to submission & verification of appropriate & relevant documents.

13. From partner & affiliated institutions, an additional 5% scholarship can be provided if any teacher from those institutes admits a student with appropriate credentials along with an existing referral, if any.

14. If a student is admitted with reference of a teacher/officer/employee of Uttara University, the amount allotted for reference can be deducted from the student's admission fee together with a special scholarship (if any).

Note:

  1. 1. Any case/situation/condition apart from the above-mentioned clauses will be on a handled case-to-case basis.
  2. 2. In any situation, the admission fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
  3. 3. For program change, TK 5,000/- will be charged once the student ID is created. Also applicable for students who change shift from regular to evening or vice versa.
  4. 4. The total scholarship is capped at 65%.
  5. 5. Students who pay all fees for both the first and second semesters at once will receive an extra 5% scholarship. Those who pay all fees for only the first semester will get an extra 2% scholarship.
