I am pleased to learn that Uttara University is going to hold its 5th Convocation for conferring degrees upon the graduating students on completion of the respective courses in a befitting manner. On this remarkable occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students, erudite faculty of different departments and all concerned of Uttara University.

Education plays an important role in building a knowledge-based society and makes the citizen more capable. It also empowers the people and helps to attain equitable and just society. There is no alternative to education for building an esteemed nation and achieving sustainable development. Universities, both private and public, are the seats of higher learning where teachers and students jointly play a pivotal role in disseminating and acquiring knowledge. Educational excellence is bound up with research and innovation. I hope that Uttara University would impart quality education with moral values for the sake of the nation.

I hope the graduating students of Uttara University will serve the nation imbued with the sense of patriotism. I, once again, congratulate the graduating students on their brilliant accomplishment and wish them a very bright future.

I am happy to know that Uttara University is going to hold its 5th Convocation on 09 January 2017. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate the graduating students, their parents, faculty members and the university authority.

Awami League government has given utmost priority on higher education based on innovative research activities to facilitate country9s socio-economic development. In this regard, we adopted a modern, scientific and time-befitting Education Policy to ensure quality education. We enacted Private University Act-2010 to boost up higher education facilities. Since 2009, the government established 8 public universities and gave permission to set up and operate 42 private universities. Private universities have become an integral part of this government endeavours to build a knowledge-based society.

I hope that the universities to keep providing financial support in the form of scholarships and tuition waivers to students, especially females and children of minority communities and of freedom fighters of our Liberation wars in 1971.

I believe, the graduating students of Uttara University will play a vital role in building a 8Sonar Bangla9 as dreamt by the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

With due respect, I am expecting all kinds of consent of the administration and the sincere collaboration of my associates and authorities including faculty members and staff individuals to make the event fruitful.

Convocation is one of the noblest events through which the students receive rewards for the fulfillment of their studies. I trust that the graduating students are set up to confront the difficulties of today9s charismatic and quick evolving world. Furthermore, the students of Uttara University will add to the national advancement throuth their acquired knowledge.

Since its initiation the university has been relentlessly advancing, keeping in view its motto of "quality education at affordable tuition", Meanwhile we have possessed the capacity to move the university to its permanent campus which will indeally be finished sooner than we anticipated. For granting quality instructions some solid strides have also been taken. The university has likewise organized some national and worldwide conferences for the betterment and exposure of the faculties.

It might be specified here that the university has been strictly following all the rules and regulations of the Government and the UGC with a specific goal to keep up the quality standard.

On this special occasion, my suggestion to the graduating students would be to excel further with the valuable knowledge they have gained here at Uttara University. Today's world is filled with difficult hurdles. However, I am certain that all of you will be able to conquer them easily. I would request all of you not only to work for self-improvement but also for your mother land.
