I am delighted to know that Uttara University is set to celebrate its 8th Convocation on 03 Oc-tober 2023. On this auspicious occasion, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations and felicitations to the graduating students and their parents, faculty, university staff, mem- bers of the Board of Trustees and all concerned.

Currently, a total of 112 private universities are being offering academic courses in Bangla- desh. Clearly, these universities have created avenues for expanding higher educational facilities to our increasing number of students. Since these universities are an integral part of our higher education system, quality educational facilities must be provided at an afforda- ble cost by these universities for the benefit of our nation.

Education without quality, vision, mission and sound objectives is just an instrument of personal gratification. I believe that Uttara University is very much meticulous regarding this and moving in the right direction to produce skilled and accomplished manpower by impart- ing quality education from its very beginning. I look forward to the graduating students con- tributing to their nation as true patriots and the world as well.

With the utmost privilege and honour, I share the momentous occasion of Uttara University's 8th convocation, which will undoubtedly serve as a testament to its accomplishment on October 3, 2023. Congratulating the graduates on their magnificent achievement, I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the proud guardians who placed their trust in us. I appre- ciate each teacher, administrative team member, Hon’ble trustees and academic council members for their support.

I am immensely delighted to announce the 8th convocation, a historic one, as it is the first convocation after the university shifted to its permanent campus. We have diligently followed the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, and all the academic and administra- tive activities started on the new campus on July 1, 2023. The new campus has not only provided maximum facilities to our students but has also exceeded our expectations in terms of new admissions.

Since its establishment in 2003, Uttara University has followed the "Quality Education at Affordable Tuition" policy. For 20 long years, we consistently followed this motto. Now, with reaching the milestone of a permanent campus, Uttara University has looked beyond its present achievements. Uttara University at present follows a new goal under the banner of "Excellence in Higher Education and Research."

Our ardent desire is to introduce an atmosphere of advanced study, research and skill devel- opment. Our future generation of students will be equipped with excellent abilities in all fields of academics, technology and critical thinking.

My confidence asserts that our graduates will use their newfound expertise, ability, and creativity to build a thriving Bangladesh. They will do this with loyalty, integrity, and commit- ment.
