It gives me immense pleasure to learn that Uttara University is going to hold its 3rd Convocation on 19th
November, 2014. On this memorable occasion, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to all the graduating students,
faculties, guardians and the university authority as well.
Convocation, the landmark ceremony of a university, confers degrees upon the graduating students that evaluates
the overall accomplishment of the university. Convocation, thus, bears immense significance and dignity both for
the students as well as the university. In the age of digital knowledge, we need skilled and efficient manpower to
cope with the local and global challenges. I hope that universities, both public and private, would produce capable
and competent pool of graduates, who would be able to shoulder the responsibility of the country. Keeping that in
mind, I believe, our universities will impart state-of-the-art education to equip its students with necessary
knowledge. I am confident that the graduating students of Uttara University will serve the nation through their
acquired knowledge and skills with sincerity, honesty and patriotism.
I wish the 3rd Convocation of Uttara University a success.

Sheikh Hasina
Prime Minister
I am happy to know that Uttara University is going to hold its 3rd Convocation on 19 November 2014. On this
occasion, I congratulate the graduating students, their guardians, faculty members and the university authority.
Our government has been striving hard to establish Bangladesh as an illiteracy- free, progressive and democratic
country by 2021, the Golden Jubilee year of our independence. However, to achieve this goal Bangladesh needs to
be transformed into a knowledge-based society.
This is why our government has given the topmost priority to education. We have adopted a modern, scientific and
time-befitting Education Policy and enacted Private University Act to ensure quality education. Private universities
have become an integral part of government's effort to ensure higher education and build a knowledge-based
society.
I hope the outgoing graduates of this university will be able to face the challenges of the 21st century and build a
prosperous "Sonar Bangla" as dreamt by the greatest Bangalee of all time, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
I wish the third convocation of Uttara University a grand success.
Joi Bangla, Joi Bangabandhu

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the graduates of Uttara University on the successful completion of their
degrees. Each one of them has achieved an important milestone and will join the ranks of the increasingly
distinguished alumnai of university.
I firmly believe that education is the most meaningful investment that society can provide to make great strides in
development and in attaining the values of tolerance, mutual respect and enlightenment. The higher the level of
education, the deeper will we root ourselves in a culture of democracy, a culture that is integral to the economic and
social transformation of our nation.
I would like to thank Uttara University to organize the highest ceremony where degrees are conferred by the State.

I am happy to learn that Uttara University is holding its Third Convocation on 19 November 2014. On this
celebratory occasion, I congratulate all the graduates for achieving this long-sought-for mile stone in their
academic life. I would also like to congratulate all the guardians for the sacrifice they have made to ensure proper
education for their wards. I am sure their expectation and sacrifice will not go in vain and the future will justify the
investments they made for the higher education of the young ones. I also congratulate the teachers whose efforts
made this day happen.
The graduates have worked hard to reach this day and they certainly deserve to celebrate With this ceremony, they
begin their professional careers and new chapters of their lives. Bangladesh needs many more talented and
dedicated graduates to lead the country on to the path of shared prosperity and the dream of Sonar Bangla, so
endearingly envisioned cv the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
You are entering an era of momentous changes where knowledge, skills, innovation and creativity will make all the
differences. I am confident the new graduates will seize the opportunities of the brave new world and contribute
their mite for Bangladesh.
In this backdrop, the role of universities is of paramount importance. I am delighted to learn that Uttara University,
as one of the leading private universities of Bangladesh, has played a commendable role for the expansion of
affordable higher education. In a country like Bangladesh where only small percentage of graduates qualify for
admission to public universities, the need for the private sector participation can hardly be stressed upon. I hope the
Uttara University will excel as a learning center for higher education.
I sincerely wish the graduates of Uttara University all the best in the future.
