Uttara University and Beacon Bangladesh Collaborate for “Lend A Hand 2024” Donation Drive

The Social Services Club of Uttara University, under the guidance of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), has successfully concluded a month-long donation drive titled “Lend A Hand 2024.” This collaborative event with Beacon Bangladesh aimed to provide aid to the victims of Cyclone Remal and the flood-affected population of Bangladesh.

Beacon Bangladesh, a youth organization dedicated to empowering youth initiatives to maximize impact across the country, joined forces with Uttara University to ensure the success of this humanitarian effort. The donations collected were handed over to Beacon Bangladesh today at the permanent campus of Uttara University.

The handover ceremony was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests. On behalf of Beacon Bangladesh, founding member Farah Tuba was present. Representing Uttara University were Prof. Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami (Pro Vice Chancellor), Professor Haspia Bashirullah (Treasurer), and Samzir Ahmed (Director, OSA), Sonia Rezina (Advisor, Social Services Club), and A.T.M.Gulam Moula (Advisor, Social Services Club) among others.

“We are immensely proud of our students and their dedication to social service,” said Prof. Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami. “Collaborations like these exemplify the spirit of community and compassion that Uttara University stands for.” Beacon Bangladesh expressed gratitude for the collaboration and looked forward to future initiatives that would further enhance their impact.

“Lend A Hand 2024” marks a significant step in aiding those in need and highlights the importance of community engagement and collective action.
