IQAC of Uttara University organized a Four-day training program on “Teachers Training on Language Teaching Methodology” for the faculty members of Uttara University teaching English Course in different departments. The training was held on 26-29 September 2018 in the English Language Center of Uttara University under the supervision of the chairperson of English Department. 23 faculty members participated in the training program. Vice Chancellor of Uttara University, Prof. Dr. M. Azizur Rahman was present as Chief Guest in the program. Pro Vice Chancellor of Uttara University, Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Advisor of Uttara University, Prof. Faez M. Serajul Hoque and Director, IQAC of Uttara University, Prof. Dr. Devi Narayan Rudra Paul, were present as Special Guests. Prof. Haspia Bashirullah, Dean, School of Arts and Social Science, Uttara University & Chairperson, Department of English, Dr. Mian Md. Naushaad Kabir, Assistant Professor, Institute of Modern Languages, Dhaka University and Dr. Muhammad Masudul Hasan, Assistant Professor & Co-ordinator , Dept. of English, Uttara University conducted the sessions as Keynote Speakers.

Prof. Haspia Bashirullah, Honourable chairperson, delivered her inaugural speech. She welcomed all teachers and guests for attending the training session and also requested them to attend for all four days to complete the training. She presented the importance of the training of English Language teaching in the class room. The Chairperson mentioned the unified syllabus of English for all departments which all English teachers should follow. She expected this session could be a successful one and it could contribute to the development of the department as well as the university significantly.

Prof. Dr. M. Azizur Rahman , VC, emphasized the need to acquire fluency in English as it is a global language. In a challenging world today the need for English is immense. Uttara University has put maximum importance on English. English Basic Level-I and Basic Level -II are taught in all the Honours Departments of Uttara University.
