Brief Profile of Professor Gour Gobinda Goswami

Hi, I am Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami,  a Professor, Department of Economics (Prof. since 2010 and Faculty at NSU since 2003) in the School of Business and Economics at North South University (NSU), Dhaka 1229, Bangladesh. I have received my Ph.D. in Economics degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the USA, in International Economics under the supervision of Professor M. Bahmani-Oskooee. I have long thirty-one years of teaching, research, consultancy, and experience in managing academic administration at different layers starting from Instructor, Proctor, Department Chair, Treasurer, Acting Pro-VC, and Acting VC at three various universities at home and abroad. I have been awarded the University Grants Commission research award for Social Science in Economics twice (2003 & 2006), Emerald Literati Award 2022 from Journal of Economic Studies as the Outstanding Reviewer 2022. I publish extensively in journals like Applied Economics, Applied Economic Letters, Australian Economic Papers, FIIB Business Review, Japan and the World Economy, Economic Modeling, Review of Political Economy, Journal of Economics & Finance, MDPI Sustainability, Review of Social Economy, Emerging Markets Finance & Trade, Southern Economic Journal, International Journal of Emerging Markets, The Chinese Economy, Environmental Science & Pollution Research, and International Review of Economics & Finance and other reputed journals. My primary research interests are in the field of International Finance or Open Economy Macroeconomics (F3), International Trade (F1); International Economics (F), followed by Development Economics, Applied Econometrics; Forecasting, Social and Political Issues.
