Uttara University Holds 64th Academic Council Meeting

On May 23, 2024, the revered Academic Council of Uttara University convened for its sixty-fourth meeting in Conference Room 200 of its permanent campus. Senior academic officers, including deans and chairpersons, faculty, administrative members, including the Board of Trustees and advisors, convened a stakeholder meeting to discuss key agenda items aimed at improving the university curriculum and equipping students with skills that global employers demand.

Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, the Vice-Chancellor, led the council and presided over the meeting, which saw the approval of some key policies that will guide the university in the coming years, along with Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami. These policies are aimed at establishing the university’s academic initiatives to address the emerging global market needs in various industries. The talks focused on the actual uses of information and communication technologies in courses, value creation, the ability to innovate within a curriculum, and preparing students for the contemporary professional world. Topics covered include course, curriculum, industry, digital skills, research and innovation, and competencies in the global market.

The council will also strengthen its efforts to deliver the mission of maintaining high-quality education, which is likely to fuel interest among students and employment markets.
