Uttara University, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Office of External Affairs, successfully launched the Reflective Self-Assessment Program, an initiative aimed at boosting students’ employability skills. The event, held on December 10, 2024, bridged the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with the tools they need for professional success.

Focused on self-reflection and skill development, the program helped students assess their current competencies, identify areas for improvement, and align their abilities with the demands of the job market. The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Saleh Ahmad, Associate Professor in the Department of English at Uttara University, who provided valuable insights into evaluating skills and meeting industry standards.

“Self-assessment is a crucial step towards professional growth. It helps students recognize their strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring they are well-prepared to face workplace challenges,” said Dr. Ahmad, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and continuous learning for long-term career success.

In addition to skill assessment, the program offered specialized courses in English proficiency and frontier technologies for students in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department. These courses were designed to enhance language skills and provide technical knowledge critical to excelling in today’s competitive job market.
