This is for information of all concerned that the university authority has established a “Center for General Education (CGE)” at Uttara University with effect from 01 January 2025. The Center will focus on offering courses in History of the Emergence of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Studies, Philosophy, Sociology, International Relations, Political Science, Psychology, Principles of Economics, Ethics, and other related fields to enrich the interdisciplinary learning environment of the university.

Terms of references

1) Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazmul Houda, who is scheduled to join Uttara University on 01 January 2025, will serve as the Coordinator for the Center for General Education under the supervision of the Dean, School of Arts and Social Science, UU to oversee the planning, development, and implementation of academic programs and initiatives under the Center.

2) All the full-time and part-time faculty members of this university with the mentioned relevant subjects will report to Professor Dr. Mohammad Nazmul Houda regarding all related affairs;

3) The Center will also organize seminars and symposiums on our history and cultural heritage.

All Deans, Chairpersons, coordinators and administrative officials are requested to provide cooperation and necessary support to the Center for General Education to ensure its successful launch and operation.
