Spring 2024 Admission Policy

Scholarship policy Spring 2024 revised from Fall 2023, 01 November onwards

The following policy has been issued for Spring - 2024 semester admission, effective from 01.11.2023 by revising the Fall 2023 policy.


1. Scholarship on Results:
  • 1.1 Founder Scholarship: (Refer to Founder Scholarship policy on website)

    Students with a Double GPA 5.00 can be awarded scholarships as follows:

    • a) Students with a GPA 5.00 in both SSC & HSC [with/without optional] will be awarded with 100% scholarship. Applicable for the students passing HSC within the last 3 years [HSC from 2021 onwards and SSC from 2019 onwards].
    • b) If any student gets an 'A' grade in 2 subjects at O level and passes at A level will be awarded with 100% scholarship.
  • Note: No waiver/scholarship is applicable for LLB (Hons).

  • 1.2. Merit-Based Scholarship:
    • a) Students who passed SSC in 2017 or earlier and HSC in 2019 or earlier will not receive any scholarship.
    • b) Students with a GPA 5.00 in SSC and HSC will receive a 50% scholarship. [HSC passing year 2020 & SSC passing year 2018].
    • c) Students with a single GPA 5.00 either in SSC or HSC will receive a 25% Scholarship. [HSC passing year 2020 & SSC passing year 2018].

2. 50% Admission fee waiver for Spring 2024.
3. Students who have completed O and A levels can get a 90% discount on admission fees.
4. All Hon's Program students will get an additional 20% flat scholarship (except Civil,Textile, EEE and Math), for Spring 2024 under the Campus Launching Offer.
  • a) Students in the Dept. of Civil, Textile, EEE and Math for the BSc Program will get a 50% scholarship, for Spring 2024 under the Campus Launching Offer.
5. Diploma Holders for all Evening programs will get merit-based scholarships that are clarified in clause no. 1.2 (d).
  • a) All the students of the Department of Civil, EEE, Textile, CSE & FDT evening program will get a flat 50% scholarship for the Spring 2024 semester.
6. All the students of Master’s Programs of MSc in CSE, MSc in Math (1 & 2 years), MBA (for BBA), MA in English (1 & 2 years), ELT (1 & 2 years), LLM for LLB Hons & MA in Islamic Studies (1 & 2 years) will get a 25% scholarship.
  • a) All the students of Master’s Programs of MSc in Physics (1 & 2 years) will get 35% waiver, MBA Regular (2 years), Executive MBA (EMBA), MBA in AMFM (1 & 2 years) & LLM (2 years) will get 40% waiver & MA in Bengali (1 & 2 years) will get 50% waiver.
7. BEd, MEd, BPEd and MPEd students will get a 25% waiver.
8. Children of Freedom Fighters will be awarded with 100% Scholarship.
9. Siblings & Spouses: A 20% waiver can be given to later admitted students.
  • 9.1 Alumni and family: Eligible for a 20% waiver.
  • 9.2 Physically challenged, ethnic minority groups and students of third gender may be granted a special waiver of a minimum 30% on a case-to-case basis subject to submission of appropriate documents.
  • Note: Only one offer can be availed from 9 to 9.2

10. A 5% additional scholarship will be awarded to female students. [For all programs in addition to the current waiver and result-based scholarship].
11. A maximum of 50% scholarship can be awarded to students seeking admission from sports and cultural fields subject to submission & verification of appropriate & relevant documents.
12. From partner & affiliated institutions, an additional 5% scholarship can be provided if any teacher from those institutes admits a student with appropriate credentials along with an existing referral, if any.
13. If a student is admitted with reference of a teacher/officer/employee of Uttara University, the amount allotted for reference can be deducted from the student's admission fee together with a special waiver (if any).
Note:
  1. Any case/situation/condition apart from the above-mentioned clauses will be on a handled case-to-case basis.
  2. In any situation, the admission fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
  3. For program change, TK 5,000/- will be charged once the student ID is created. Also applicable for students who change shift from regular to evening or vice versa.
  4. The total waiver is capped at 60% except for clause No. 10.
  5. When getting admitted to the Department of Law, students have to pay 2 month’s tuition fees in advance including Admission Fees. No waiver is applicable for the Department of Law as mentioned in 1.1 (b).
