The Department of Civil Engineering (CE), Uttara University organized an orientation program for freshers on the 13th of October 2022, at UU Central Auditorium. Around 200 newcomers and 18 full-time faculty members of the Dept. of CE were present.
The presence of our Chief Guest: Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, Uttara University, and Guest of Honor: Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rashid, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, DUET created a graced environment for the occasion.
Addressing the students Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rashid said, “Hard labour, combined with an educational certification, is required for a successful life. We are not less talented than everyone else. In higher education, it is not an issue of who studied where, but of merit, which is the student’s true identity“.
The program started with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Assistant Professor & Chairman (Acting), Mr. Md. Ashraful Alam congratulated the freshmen students and introduced the brief history of Uttara University. Also, he motivated the newcomers to set goals in their life.
Six of our freshmen students have expressed their feelings about getting admitted into the Dept. of CE at Uttara University. Following this event, our honourable chief guest Prof. Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha distributed crest and certificates among the winners of the indoor games competition 2022. Later, a brief workshop on CV writing had been conducted for the newly admitted novice students.
The entire program was hosted successfully by Lecturer and Program Coordinators Rafi Shahriar Alom and Aseaya Khanom Mim. The BNCC Cadets gave their utmost effort to maintain the discipline of the program.
