Chairman's Message
I am delighted to announce that the Department of Physical Education, Uttara University (UU), Bangladesh, is the first department in the nation to offer the Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) and the Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.). We have achieved remarkable progress in meeting expectations for high-quality education and offering students a variety of unique learning possibilities. Our academic members and students are equally bright, aspirational, and gifted. Using our website, I have the great pleasure of inviting you to learn more about the goals and operations of Uttara University's physical education department. Our department has been working hard from the start to produce sports scientists and physical educators for our nation. We are exploring the different aspects of health and fitness of the general population of our society, keeping in mind our country's socio-economic and socio-cultural conditions. We are working to comprehend the issues and possibilities through study and research.

Student: A total of 2500 students obtained their degree from their Department.
- Local: Secondary school teachers, Service holders and fresh graduates are major students of this department.
- Foreign: Few foreign student also received their degree and some of them are new continuing their course work at present. These students are mostly from Turkey and India.
- Passed out(Number) : A total of 2500students already passed out.
Student activity:
- Preparation of teaching learning materials for practice teaching classes.
- Study tour
- Co-curricular activities: Observation of Science Week, Debate, Talent hunt, Cultural program, New year celebration, National days celebration, Workshops, Seminar & Symposium, Educational magazine publication , Orientation for new batches and Farewell for out going batches, Study tour based on subject assignment (historical, cultural and important places) etc.
Achievement:
- 1st Convocation: Achieved Honorable Chancellors gold medal owned by B.Ed program student Masuma Khatun.
- 2nd Convocation: Vice-chancellor’s award owned by Ashish Vijoyvergia.
Uttara University offers all the courses of study primarily in English. Teachers provide instruction to students in the classroom in English. English is also widely used as a medium of communication among the faculties, students, and administrative officials.

Admission Eligibility
A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA 2.5 in both SSC & HSC or equivalent examinations
or
A minimum GPA 2.00 in SSC or HSC or in equivalent examinations, but total GPA not less than 6.00
or
A student should have five subjects in “O” Level and 2 subjects in “A” Level. Out of these seven subjects in these two examinations, Grade B or GPA 4.0 in any four subjects and Grade C or GPA 3.5 in other three subjects
For the children of Freedom Fighters: A minimum total GPA 5.00 in SSC and HSC or in equivalent examinations.

Tuition Waiver
Along with the facilities mentioned above, brilliant and meritorious but poor students are allowed Tuition Fee waiver. Siblings and spouses are also getting waiver. Tribal, Disabled, Autistic and students from Freedom Fighters families are highly benefited by studying at Uttara University.
