Chowdhury Sajadul Islam, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Uttara University attended the IEEE-EMBS (Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society) Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (IECBES 2018) at Borneo Convention Centre Sarawak – Kuching, Malaysia held on December 3-6, 2018 as a reviewer. He also presented a research paper on the title “A Novel Idea of Malaria Identification using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN)”. The theme of the meeting is “Innovations in Global Healthcare”. Consistent with their theme, they arranged special day- long session for plenary keynotes from leading industrial and academic scientists, who will give forward-
looking visions as well as current technological/knowledge limitations in the relevant fields - to help focus and spark innovations in healthcare. The conference covered a broad array of scientific tracks with diverse topics of cutting-edge research and innovation in biomedical engineering, healthcare technology R&D, translational clinical research, technology transfer and entrepreneurship, and biomedical engineering education.
