Department of Fashion Design And Technology
Bangladesh is growing in a direction to become a middle-income nation. The fashion and clothing sectors provide the nation's exports with their primary source. Without qualified workers, the apparel and fashion sectors will not be able to sustain their expansion. A severe challenge in this industry is the lack of specialists such as merchandisers, fashion designers, and other administrative positions who can please international customers.
Our readymade clothing exports now total over $50 billion. A few years from now, it will be worth 100 billion dollars. To support the current and upcoming lack of skilled workforce and build this industry even stronger, professionals are required. The Department of Fashion Design & Merchandising pledges to the nation and industry to guarantee efficient operations and industrial expansion. Because of their innovative ideas and business mindset, our fashion designers are very important in this local market.
Traditional teachers and ours are not the same. They have practical experience before joining the department, hence they are presenting lectures in courses in diverse methods. Thanks to a practical-based teaching and learning approach, students learn through fun. Club activities and the fashion show help students improve their leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, and interpersonal skills. Students become more mature in handling managerial jobs in industry through factory visits and factory professionals' participation in our educational process. Our powerful tool for preparing students for the challenges of the future is a six-month internship under the guidance of educators and business leaders.
Every student works. Students work both domestically and internationally in the garment and fashion industry as merchandisers, fashion designers, entrepreneurs, and in other managerial roles.

A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA 2.5 in both SSC & HSC or equivalent examinations
